Search Committee News
The list continues to grow! We have added a number of names to the list of potential clergy interested in leading
this wonderful community of faith here at St. James’. The Search Committee has contacted a number of trusted
advisors in and outside Texas in an effort to cast a wide net in our search. We are grateful to these individuals for
their assistance in this effort. And thanks to all of you in the congregation who have submitted names for
consideration. We are still accepting names so don’t hesitate to suggest someone you think might appreciate our
church.
The Search Committee would also like to extend a special THANK YOU to the Monday night prayer group. We
understand that this prayerful and faithful group holds us up in prayer each and every week. They pray for the work
of the committee and they pray for the individual members of the committee. They pray that we will find a faithful
minister and a spiritual leader who is called to lead us as our journey of faith continues. They just pray, and we are
grateful to them and for them. Amen.
While I’m at it, let me also extend a special thanks to Steven Tomlinson for his work on the committee document
management system. Wow! When our search is over, every search committee in the country is going to want to use
his system; thank you so much Steven. Each member of the committee has played a significant role in our work to
date. I plan to highlight their contributions in this article from time to time. So when you see Steven or any other
member of the committee, please take time to thank them for the sacrifices they make to serve and for all their hard
work.
