Reclaiming our mission. Reconnecting with each other. Renewing our commitments.
It’s not just about money. Our campaign is an occasion for St. James’ Episcopal Church to come together, prepare and take stock as we embark on the next stages of our united journey of faith.
For 70 years strong, we have been anchored by our commitments to diversity and inclusion, to service and to radical hospitality. We have honored our heritage and reached out to the community.
Throughout our history, we have faced challenges and we have grown. And we face new challenges today because we have grown as we have answered God’s call.
We need to increase annual giving to maintain the programs, activities and ministries that help us fulfill our mission. And we aim to raise at least $1.25 million over three years with our capital campaign to retire our debt for our new home and move forward in freedom to be what are called to be.
We ask not for equal gifts but equal sacrifice. Please think about what St. James’ means to you and has meant to others in this congregation and the East Austin community. Now, think about things in your life that cost money that are less important than St. James’. Can you find ways to make more room for the most important gift you can make — your gift to God?
We are confident that, with this campaign, we’ll do more than meet our financial needs. We’ll position St. James’ for continued growth and success in the tradition of our founders and members who’ve made this church an example to others since 1941.
