Celebrate Stewardship Ingathering with the Biggest Chili Cook-off Yet!

It’s that time of year again-to taste some real Texas Red and (in spite of previous years mistakes) to select the best chili among the entries by St. James’ chili cooks.

Did you hear the big news? In the spirit of respecting diverse chili traditions and eating behaviors, there will be a Vegetarian award category this year! Come on now…

Date: Sunday, October 27, 2019

Time: After the 10:15 and 5:30 services

Rules:

· Sign up your fabulous concoction.

· Let us know if you are bringing it after the 10:15 or 5:30 services.

· If you are competing you will need to bring: your chili in a crockpot, a ladle, and any special condiments.

· The Chili Cook off Committee will provide bowls and spoons for tasting, onions, cheese and Fritos (to kill the taste of said gawdawful concoctions), drinks, voting paraphernalia and running commentary.

· Winners will be announced and prizes awarded immediately after judging.

· Awards will be given for the best chilis and best presentation.

· Trash talking with kindness is accepted.

· Name your chili inspiration and be creative.
